Frequently Asked Questions
Appointments
How quickly can I get an appointment? Appointment availability depends on current bookings and can vary. We recommend contacting our office directly or visiting our online booking system to check the soonest available slots. We'll do our best to accommodate your needs as quickly as possible.
Sessions
Following your enquiry with us, we will arrange an initial 15 minute consultation call to find out more about your needs and therapeutic goals. If you are happy to proceed we will then arrange your first full appointment. Sessions are 50 minutes unless otherwise arranged.
Payment
All sessions must be prepaid at the time of booking. This helps us secure your appointment and ensure that we can dedicate our time to you. We securely process payments through Stripe for your convenience. If you encounter any issues or prefer an alternative payment method, please don't hesitate to give us a call. We're happy to assist where we can.
Medicare
We do not accept Medicare or Mental Health Plans (MHP) as it imposes certain restrictions on therapy, including limitations on the number of sessions and types of therapeutic approaches that may not align with the unique needs of our clients. By not using Medicare, we are able to offer a more flexible, personalised, and holistic approach to therapy, ensuring that your treatment is tailored specifically to your goals and progress.
Health Insurance
We accept select private health providers.
Telehealth
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy? Findings from a recent systematic review and meta-analysis (Ahern et al., 2017) reveal that therapist-supported online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face therapy in improving mental health outcomes. Additonally, it surpasses traditonal treatment methods, providing a superior alternative for those seeking mental health support.
Confidentiality
All treatment is strictly confidential. Prior to your first full session your therapist will outline our confidentiality policy. All services provided are in accordance with the standards set forth by the Privacy Act 1988, the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the guidelines of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) ensuring that your online therapy is delivered safely, ethically, and effectively, and maintaining the same standards as face-to-face therapy.
Cancellation
We will always try our best to accommodate your needs should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, however late cancellations and missed appointments are payable in full unless 48 hours notice is given or an exceptional circumstance has arisen. In such cases, we will assess the situation and may apply the pre-paid amount as a credit to your account for future use.
Crisis
Our practice does not provide crisis intervention or emergency mental health services.
